Our Story

Why African Art? Because it’s personal.

Infinite Treasures African Art was born from legacy, conviction, and a deep sense of responsibility to retell the African narrative through art—by Africans, for the world.

As a Nigerian boy growing up, art wasn’t just in my environment—it was in my blood. My father, the renowned Master Painter Abiodun Olaku, passed down more than his DNA; he passed down his love, discipline, and passion for art. I spent countless moments by his side in his studio, surrounded by the smell of oil paints, the echo of brushstrokes, and the wisdom of master artists who gathered around him.

Under his tutelage and within the creative atmosphere of Universal Studios of Art in Lagos, I absorbed not only techniques but a deep reverence for the power of storytelling through art. These experiences became more than childhood memories—they became the foundation of a lifelong mission.

Even with over four decades of impact, my father always said, We’ve barely scratched the surface. He saw what many ignored: that African art, in its purest and most profound forms, remains grossly underrepresented on the global stage. According to UBS’s 2023 Global Art Market Report, African art holds just 1% of global market share. That’s not just a statistic—it’s a symptom of a deeper issue.

Many African artists, despite their mastery, are sidelined—often due to tokenism, gatekeeping, or the notion that a “Black quota” has already been filled. The system wasn’t designed to amplify us. In many ways, it mirrors the same exploitation and misrepresentation we’ve historically fought against.

That’s what sparked the vision behind Infinite Treasures.

We are here to reposture African artists and reintroduce African art to the world—not as a trend or commodity, but as timeless expressions of identity, excellence, and culture. With my background in marketing, strategy, and photography, and a clear understanding of how branding shapes perception, I knew it was time to act—not just as a founder, but as an African artist in the diaspora who deeply understands both worlds.

Joining me is David Oluwatoyin, my brother and co-founder—a dedicated curator and consultant with over a decade of experience working with major exhibitions, collectors, and galleries in Nigeria. With our father casting visionary guidance, we are a family-led, purpose-driven team.

Together, we believe that African art deserves a global platform—one that preserves its integrity, champions its creators, and invites collectors, curators, and everyday admirers to experience its richness.

This is more than a business.
This is our legacy in motion.
This is Infinite Treasures African Art.

Whether advising collectors, developing new curatorial formats, or building community through cultural dialogue, his work is rooted in the belief that African art deserves to be seen, valued, and preserved — not as an exception, but as the standard.
